Benicio del Toro and Four More Latin American Films to Cannes
Cannes Film Festival made public its official lineup today, it was announced that Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro will be part of the official selection jury, whilst Carlos Diegues will be part of the Cinefondation jury. The Peruvian film Octubre by Daniel Vega and the Argentinean film Los Labios (photo) by Santiago Loza and Iván Fund were selected for the Un Certain Regard competition, whilst Diego Luna's Abel (which was premiered in Sundance last January) and Patricio Guzmán's Nostalgia de la luz (Nostalgia for the Light) will be shown as special screenings. Besides González Iñárritu's Biutiful, no other Latin American film was selected for the official selection.
